Mohammed Bello Adoke SAN graduated, with a second class upper division, from the Faculty of Law, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1985. He was called to the Nigeria Bar in 1986. he has a PGD, Inter. Tax Law (RKU, Zurich) and a PGD, Inter. Comm. Law (Nottingham), His wealth of experience dates back to his days at Kwara State Schools Management Board as well as when he served as a pupil counsel with Kano State Ministry of Justice. From Messrs Zakari Yaro & Co and I.M Boyi & Co, he also gathered additional professional experience and other necessary capacities required to build a virile foundation in the establishment of his own law firm, Messrs M.A Bello & Co. The latter has recorded more victories than defeats for its ever growing clientele and accordingly attracted regular requests for mentorship placements by many pupil lawyer. And so compelling is the desire of clients to have their briefs handled by Messrs M.A Bello & Co. that the firm is forced to run a tight shift practice.
Adoke sharpened his intellectual prowess with a post graduate Diploma in International Tax Law from Robert Kennedy University Zurich, Switzerland and a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from Keble College, Oxford to qualify as an international arbitrator.
The most endowed and populous African nation Nigeria, while preparing for transition into the fifth republic made a demand on Mr. Adoka’s intellectual prowess when he was appointed the Minister of justice and Attorney General of the Federation, on April 6th 2010, by the Acting and now president, Good luck Ebelle Jonathan.
Adoka has since his appointment dutifully applied his professional skills in engineering the nation’s electoral reforms and advancing the nation’s administration. Called to the prestigious inner bar in September 2006, the International Arbitrator has attended and made astute presentations at several local and international seminars and conferences.
Born on the first day of September 1963, the Kogi State indigene is presently a party appointed Arbitrator representing the Federal government in the Investment Dispute with Shell Ultra Deep Ltd at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, Washington D.C.
The accomplished Notary public, currently a member of Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee LPPC is also an honorary fellow of the institute of Business Executives of Nigeria and Institute of Industrialist and Corporate Administrators. He has a luggage full of experience in successfully turning around several distressed companies. He was part of the presidential commission for the wholesale review of the Arbitration and conciliation Laws of Nigeria, also the Federal Government appointed Arbitrator in the Global Steel Holdings Ltd and Bureau of public Enterprises Investment Dispute and AES Nigeria Barge and Lagos State government. Between 2006 and 2008, he was a member of the Board of Peugeot Automobile Ltd, Kaduna and Chairman of the Board Audit Committee of Unity Bank Plc. He belongs to the Nigeria Bar Association NBA and the International Bar Association IBA.
